![]() | I see this happen all too often - people open the site before it is finished, and the site ends up never getting done because traffic demands the upkeep of existing services/features, which keeps them from developing new stuff. Just my 2 cents for the day. -Matt

![]() | I go both ways on this. When I set up my first site, I worked tiredlessly on it for a full month. I had every I dotted and T crossed. Every little nitpick was excised from the site. It was perfect. I opened the doors and crickets. It was ready for the audience but the audience was not ready for it. I have learned over time that it can take time and energy to build an audience so while I agree that the foundation needs to be solid, you should plan on adding pieces as you grow the site. The net result is you will have a populated site with visitors much more quickly then if you wait to finish it entirely before letting people check it out. |

![]() | You have a good point. Take iWEBTOOL for example. But, it built the base THEN got traffic before it opened... THAT'S preperation

| Regular Member | Depends entirely upon the type of site if you ask me. I'm makin a mmorpg and I'll have the site open to beta testers long before its open to the general public ![]() |

![]() | It happened with me for my wordpress themes. Its hard to tell everyone who used your theme when u dont even know how many are there. but for programs , you can use BETA , ofcourse then users will come back to check the progress. Last edited 12-27-2005 at 09:23 AM. |
