These are the 3 basic steps

1. find a good domain name. your target keyword should be in your domain name
2. in your Title, use your target keywords also
3. Content should have your target keywords and must be related to your site of course. much content would be ok

Having keywords in your domain has minimal effect. Words in the domain are no more important than the words on your page.

I think You are right.

If your market is very competetive You can substitute the keywords -missing from the domain- with folder-, ans subfolder names on your server.
I think it's a good technique.

And one domain can not contains too much keywords but the url with clever folder hierarchy can.

there was a site I found that evaluated the maximum number of repeated keywords allowed (once I find I'll post the link), saying that if these words go over the limit it would be considered engine spamming. Has anyone heard of this and tell me if it's true?

Well i think that the spamming can be judged only by the keyword density.
Over 10% it's suspecious.

yeah, i agree about the 'overuse' of keywords. but if you've read brad callen's SEO Made Easy, it should go with the content. An informative content that is. but domain names still have a great effect when it comes to optimization.

It's not necessary to submit to search engines. One of my sites was 3 days old and was indexed by Google and Yahoo without submission. If you get good inbound links to your site, the SE's will find you on their own.

I don't think that's true for MSN. MSN loves keywords in domains and/or filenames. That's how all those spammy hyphenated subdomains rank high in MSN.

Hi there,

Having your primary keywords in your domain won't help that much, it obviously can boost sites with brandable domains like Yahoo!, Google, AOL, etc.

Although it doesn't help an awful lot so don't worry about it.
