My family are and have been for years struggling with our finances.

I have two young children Tyler 6 and Emily 2 and i love them dearly.

It saddens and depresses me to no end that my son woriies about money because he hears us talking and arguing about it.

We couldn't pay our house taxes last year so the certificate was sold to a private part and has to be paid back in a year or our home goes up for auction.

More immediate is that if we can't pay our taxes this year we lose the house automatically.

I am 41 and have been working hard non-stop for 25 years but I can never seem to get ahead.

So you ask what I'd do if someone gave me a million dollars?

I'd pay off all my bills and my house, save my marriage, give my children the security they deserve and with the rest help out some friends and family.

I feel like my life is just run on a treadmill and in a blink I'll be 80 and I'll have missed it because I've always been working just to live.

I realized that my first posting kind of came off sounding like self pity and I didn't mean it that way.

We all have problems and I am blessed in many ways.

I wish a million dollars for everyone who could use it to improve their quality of life.

I would buy a house, a dependable car, and invest the rest in some sort of business, most likely real estate. Oh, and I'd say thanks too.

i would divide it up equally between my family
then with my share i would pay off all my debts then invest the rest for my future kids.

Hi there,

I would put it in a savings bond for about 5 years, so that the interest built the amount up and created more interest, etc, etc, etc. And the I would give you the million back and still be a rich man.

Firstly I would say thank you, then use the money to get me through university to begin with...
Then I'd pay off my parents mortgage and spread the wealth generally with family and friends. Then I'd invest the rest into something meaningful or worthwhile... why do you ask?
