| Member | In my opinion it depends on your site's goals and priorities. Sections in a folder structure help the site content-wise and PR for each section (provided that your site have a healthy internal linking structure) is distributed throughout the whole site. Subdomains and its main site are considered different sites from each other by the search engines (eg. sports.mydomain.com is a different site from www.mydomain.com). Therefore, any links between subdomains will hold greater perceived weighting (given that each subdomain has a high PR) because they will be seen as external rather than internal links within the site. So, if you stick to a long-term scheme of building great content and getting some great inbound links, with all things being equal, it won't make much difference whether your site have a subdomain or a folder structure. ![]() |

![]() | Depends, really. If it was a forum, I might go with a subdomain, or if I'd like to divide my site up into several different features, etc. But for something like keywords, I'd probably make it a section or folder. Makes more sense to me, but it really depends on your site and what you intend to use it for.

| iWEBTOOL Staff | I am simply going to say that Subdomains are recognized as different websites by Google and rather they won't crawl it as often as per say your main site. So use folders to keep your site organized. If you really want to optimize your site, use abit of Mod_Rewrite to make everypage a .HTML page. |
