![]() | I'm still student and unemployed. I was just wondering if doing job is good or running your own business. So far my aim is to do some business. I hate jobs & I love to do own business, but I may be wrong. I would like to get advice from professionals about doing a job or running your own business. Please share your experience here so I can get better idea for my future.

![]() | I would prefer to run a business, but my first choice is to be a government official for the FAA and become a highly respected air traffic controller (most stressful job on the planet - these dudes are in the towers at the airports)... my second choice is to run a business ![]() Although, from what I've heard, making sure you know what you're doing is key.

| Junior Guru | I would take a job first, and slowly move into making your own business from learning from your boss' success. Online business and real business have many differences but many similarities. HTMLGuy

| Regular Member | Don't get all wrapped up in the big business dream - You don't "just" wake up one morning and run your own business. Starting a new business is VERY hard to do and the majority of new businesses fail within the first 3 years

| Regular Member | Maybe, maybe not...but how many people actually make a living buying and selling domains? I can go out and get a job right this second for a guaranteed $7/hour...how easy is it to guarantee that I make $7/hour buying and selling domains? Next to impossible...

![]() | this is my tip: Start a job first in the region you want to work, let's say computers. Then after a while when you know how everything goes, try to think on how you would setup your own and how you would earn more. As soon as you have figured that out, start your own ( same what I do ) |

to be honest it's not! I don't know if this is at other schools aswell but here in the Netherlands we got something called: "Stage". This means you go to work at a company in the region you work in, and earn nothing to little ( i actually earned quite a lot, around 5 to 10 euro's an hour ) this is so you can learn how this all goes! so it's practically thesame! | |

| Member | Having a job is a synch, although you work for someone else, you follow the rules of someone else, you cannot take full command of how much you're earning and how much time you're spending to work. Starting your own business is risky. It would require a lot of effort, money, and guts and in the end you might find your business failing. But if you become successful with the business, it is much better than having a job, you become your own boss. I'd go with get a job to add fuel to your experiences and knowledge while planning to start a business. |
