Getting into dmoz??

Hi All,
I have been trying to get indexed by dmoz for almost a year now and still indexed. Everything works on my site and have lots of useful content.Can someone here tell me what i should do to get indexed? maybe am doing something wrong? all suggestions are welcome!

Don't worry about Dmoz. Just submit the site and forget about it. It's no more important that any other backlink.

There is little you can do if they don't want to include the site. maybe the editor of that catagoory has very hight standards, Or maybe he don't even edit the catagory any more. There are so many reasons why your site may not be in there it's juust not worth worrying about.

They use to give you updates on the progress of your site but they discontinued that!
A year is way to long your doing something wrong! Go withdrawal
your site and resubmit it again. Then do what stOx said FORGET ABOUT IT!
As you have figured out by know you are left in a dark cave after you submit!

I think you maybe right, but if i forget about dmoz, how else am i going to get into google directory?? isnt that the only way??

"forget about dmoz" i meen dont sit there and check your email everyday to see if it has been added. you just have to forget about it or you will drive yourself crazy. If you did everything correct they will eventually add your link! Keep in mind its all volunteers that run that site so im sure it will be very long proccess.

It takes a while to be listed on DMOZ, most of the websites that are listed under DMOZ are more than 3 years old and so, maybe they like old websites just because they think its running for a while and wont just drop or maybe its coz of the que and it takes them time to approve or not to approve plus dont forget to list your website in the right category that might fasten it a bit !

Do they ask for a resipricol (i'm pretty sure my spelling went boom on that one) link and what page it was on? I had a problem recently with that I kept putting a link on my page to their site but they could verify it bc I gave them my home page url and the link was on another page connected. I finally figured it out. Maybe you should check into that. THough I must admit that would seriously suck if it was a problem as simple as that and you 've been trying for a year. It does seem a bit tedious. Good luck and peace to you.

The best way to get listed on DMOZ is get involved. I have a gambling site, which would have been very hard to get listed, so I applied to be an editor, which I got and was able to add my site - plus keep a track on what goes on!
