I know this is an older thread. But i just found it and wanted to make a statement. and it is a good thing that it was a while before i found it. Here are some interesting facts.
The think tank that is now in controll, Bush, Cheney and the current whitehouse admin had plans before they took office to controll the internet. it is in the PNAC documents( just search pnac. Now since the last elections congress has written a bill that ALL BLOGGERS and WEBMASTERS that have over 500 unique visitors per month have to submit quarterly reports of content Directly to congress. We had all better hope that this never passes.

This make me believe that they are not looking for child predators, but dissenters. And it is a way to controll the one remaining media that the people have left that is not under controll of the gov. and big corp.

If you want a free internet you need to pray that this does not pass.

And giving up liberty for freedom is the same thing.

This is why they wanted the info, to find out statistics of searches to dissenting web pages.

There is also another bill in congress that affects the internet. it is concerning the ability of the ISP's to make one site load better than the next depending on HOW MUCH YOU PAY! this will let Corp. America and the rich controll the top of the natural listings because they can afford it.

I'll do that sometime. I hope that would be why the others search engines do that, it's more honorable than spying for the president.
