Default SEO study, part 2

Okay, this is a bit late, but the second part to the fortuneinteractive SEO study was released on July 18, 2006. If any of you remember my article about the first study, then you should find this pretty interesting. I didn't write anything up on it this time, the first article didn't get a good response. But I thought I'd point you to where you could find the info.

SEO Part 2

Some interesting points about this new study. When comparing it to the first test results, there seems to be some pretty big differences across the SE's and with each factor. It's my opinion that the reason for this is because the test subjects weren't controlled. This is why most studies are conducted using controlled test subjects. For example, they could have built 2 websites, used the exact same SEO techniques for on page and off page optimization for both, and tested them using 2 different keywords/phrases. I think that this would give us a better idea of exactly how the SE's move and think. That being said, the information they provide using their study is very interesting, and extremely useful.

While your there, be sure to take a look at part 1 of this study, and notice the difference between the results of the 2 studies.

The biggest difference I noted was in the quality of the inbound links on the second study seemed a great deal more important according to Google and Yahoo, but considerably less important for MSN.

What are your opinions on this study?
