Default Key words and page ranking

Hi

Am new to the forum. I wanted to ask a question about keywords, I have search and check out books from the libaray on this subject. I paid someone to design my site, now that the site is builded it's hard to reach the designer for any help, even with little questions, so any help you can offer, I would appreciate. 1> Problem: from time to time I will use a free program from the web dealing keywords tool, each time I use these problem they come back and say that there are problems with my keywords, too many or not the right kind and that the keywords or site is not friendly "am not sure what that means" etc, so I go back into the site and change out the keywords, I also have link up with other companies with a high PR, but to this day I have a " 0 " page rank, can anyone help me to understand how or what I need to do, to get my site in the running. I have been on the web now for over six months and only one person have call me. I understand that I "can't wait" on my website to do all the work

Well, I'd say concentrate on your content more than getting listed in the search engines. You have to think about what pharses describe what service/product you offer, and use those phrases in your meta tag, incoming links, your header tags, and your content. Then, after you have taken care of that, leave your keywords alone, and go get some quality relevant inbound links. You can start with directories, but you should also think about getting links from sites that are similar to yours. You may have to exchange links(put their link on your site), or even pay for them. If you do all of that, then before to long the search engines will begin to take notice.

Don't submit your links to 200 or 300 sites and expect any major changes, your link submissions should never end. Always submit you links, this will definately help build your search engine rankings.

I hope that that helps.

ya i'll agree with jumpenjuhosaphat , inbound links can really help you and try to find the best keywords that fits your according to your content and dont keep on changing the keywords from time to time , make a decision once and then submit it to the search engines you'll soon be spotted by the searc engines , but dont expect any rankings coz there might be alotta competition on those particular keywords , that takes time and ya again get some quality inbound links to your website =)

Keep on writing more content. One suggestion I have to get the ball rolling for new sites is to submit an external link to a relevant Wikipedia page. The key here is relevant! Don't spam.

Hi,

My website has been up since 2002. I am currently re-writing my website pages since my keyword density is non existent. I now have 660 backlinks which I have added in the last month. I webtools page rank predictor indicates "2 and is predicting a 4 (3.6)
The competition for video producers in Chicago is horrific. The page rank for the ones that are appearing in the first page of the search engines is 4 and 5 when I check then in the tools here.

I just felt like I was getting somewhere when I realized my pagerank dropped by 3 pages in google yesterday. It was on page 5 now it is on page 8.

My home page has an error with sitemaps for Google and comes up as a 404 error. A subcontractor updates my website for me since I have no clue how to do so.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
thanks!

I came across your post and I see that your are still struggling with links and key words. If you pick key words that are common you will never get the ranking. If I use the key word "cheesecake" I don't rank, but if I use "cheesecake overnight delivery" I am on page 1 of Yahoo and MSN and I have got orders from that key phrase.

Do free directories that do not require a reciprocal, I was able to increase my links by 1000 in one week.

It is a never ending battle.

Go to my site and enter the info for a link and I will place you on my link page, maybe my PR4 will help.
