How do I find an IP address with only a persons e-mail address.....

Hi there,

For what purposes would you like to find this out? For revenge? If they have done something wrong, report it to the administration of the e-mail service (AOL in this case), as they can ban them from using there e-mail.

If it is for malicious purposes, sorry to sound rude but you have found the wrong forum. If not I'm am sorry as I don't know how you would be able to do this.

Your best bet, like Kieran suggested is to report the e-mail address to AOL.

There is a way of getting there ip, particularly if they sent it to your hotmail account, but I would rather not say here. Once again, its best that you report any malicious emails to the email provider and block any futher emails by setting up a rule.

Try to mail him(her) like:

"you have won a free pizza! Reply this message, and we'll bring it to You absolutely free!"

When you receive a relpy message, look it's headers for ip addresd

I don't think headers show an IP address, just host.

its most probably in the headers of that e-mail that you've received =)

My idea:

Sent him an email and say him he has to copy and paste the ip from sites like http://www.ip-adress.com and return this in his email.
