Okay, I was talking to some fellow webmaster friends... and a couple said the PR just updated a few hours ago.

Anyone else seeing this at any of there sites?

A few of my sites were predicted to go from 0 PR to 3 PR and one even 4PR - but I haven't seen the slightest change at any of my sites.

Has it updated yet - or does it just take a time to "ripple" out and affect all sites?

I havent seen any changes and wouldnt exactly expect them around this time anyways...I think the next rank is supposed to come mid to late January

I haven't seen a jump either, I suppose my site wouldn't get a jump unless I was actually optimizing it and paying attention to it. What sites have had a jump for you spider?

^ nothing has jumped for me... that's why I'm worried. A few friends say there's have, but I haven't seen the slightest change.

what page rank checker have they been looking at? Sometimes their page rank hasn't jumped just there backlinks and what not or even their spot on a first page or results

maybe just fluctuating... Google updates its PR every 3 months so I expect it would be by January.

As of yesterday I have seen backlink updates. I have also seen several of my sites that have just recently gotten into DMOZ now show up in the Google Directory.

I do not think a PR update has rolled out yet, but I would not be suprised to see one very soon.

It's not really, lol...it has very little effect on search engine listing...These days the biggest reason people want a high PR is for a sense of accomplishment and for advertising power. High PR's will allow for high advertising rates

PR as we know is largely based on the number and quality of backlinks that a page has. it's still an important factor on determining the rankings of a site but it's not something that should be fussed over too much since it doesn't have that much impact on google as it once had.

I've also seen backlink fluctuations with my site lately. I don't think it's a PR update since a lot of people still say that the next PR update would be around the end of january or start of february.

Not when they keep track of them constantly for 3 months

Each update is just a matter of releasing the ranks that they already know

PageRank is being calculated 24/7. A "PageRank update" is simply when Google refreshes each site's external PageRank (what you see on the toolbar and PR checker sites) with its real PageRank. Just because you have a PR 0 right now doesn't mean it's your actual PR - you may actually have a PR 5 but you just don't know it yet because the external PageRank hasn't been updated yet.
