![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I personally don't know much about flash, but, it is a nice technology, that when used alongside of other internet technologies, can help to produce nice web pages. I think that some people use it as a sole design tool for their pages, and that is a mistake. It is like displaying images, or javascript, a little can go a long way, but too much, and it turns people away. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hi there, The reason why people sometimes prefer flash is because it uses vector technology which means that you can produce excellent quality images at a low size without using compression. The reason why it is popular is because you can make a website look extremely professional and spectacular without having the long wait due to a low downstream. People on 56k can load a decent flash page in under a minute, although for the people that can't wait it is worth offering a HTML alternative on your entry page. But...because the world is turning digital and people are mostly using ADSL, DSL and other high speed Internet, flash is becoming the new trend. Some people make it out though like flash doesn't use HTML, although it truly does, for instance when a flash button contains a hyperlink. Hope this information helped. Regards, Kieran Taylor. |

![]() | Ok, I agreed, but why big companies not implementing this technogy. If it is easy to download, and very good graphics they should use this. If we look at MSN, Yahoo, Google, Microsoft, they are still in the same process. So what are the main factors. Web Developer |

Thats the question again, why flash becoming more popular. Why people prefer flash and paying 10 times more than a normal website design. Because it is look and feel. Its attractive, colorful and live. Each company prefer to update his website with new technolgy to attract more and more customer. If there is a race between yahoo, google or msn, they should try to get it first to attract visitor to their website. Web Developer are you agree with this. | |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Hi there, Search engines don't need flash as their aim to get all the Internets information and have it as well organised as possible and able to be retrieved as fast as possible. Search engines need feasibility and flash is not feasible, I do however agree that it would make them look a lot nicer. Regards, Kieran Taylor. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Yeah, Google still looks pretty much the same as they always have. They don't need any flashy graphics or primo web designs to keep people coming back. They give a great example of the old saying "Content is king". Although, Yahoo! and MSN both offer alot more on their home pages than just search, but I don't know if adding flashy design would necessarily benefit them. |

![]() | As far as I understand , flash is good for static pages. But for dynamically created websites, we cant get the same result using flash compare to we are getting result using php, jsp, asp technolgies. That is the reason these top companies not using flash and if they use then only use for banners or some advertisements. |

![]() | While seeing few flash I have observed most of those are either useless or just loaded without any real need.

![]() | hi, i've recently put together quite a large site using only flash and nobody seems to have had any problem with it: www.inox.co.uk some might say that it should have been done in html and that the search engines have a hard time with pure flash sites. i think it depends very much on what the content is and how you intend to bring the site to the attention of the intended audience. twelfty |

![]() | Flash is very attractive to users till the certain point. If you are using too much flashing stuff on the site that might spread the visitor's attention and they can not concentrate on the major points. So, everything should be in adequate proportions. The biggest disadvantage of flash is, they can not provide the sufficient amount of content to be considered friendly for the search engines. (Unless you put some content to the site in addition to the flash). Pure flash sites practically don't have a chance to be on the search engines results (unless you pay SE's for the certain placemant). That is based on my experience. Have a great day, ![]() |

![]() | I think that Flash is great but shouldn't be used too much. It should be used for an opening intro and main page but if you want a lot of content throughout your website or have a website that would need a lot of editing you should go with plain old HTML ![]() |
