How accurate is the PR Checker?

I was wondering how accurate the PR Checker is, because I have no backlinks listed with Google according to the Link Popularity tool, but still the PR Checker shows me at a predicted page rank of 3.3. How can that be? I did the checks on the site in my signature if you would like to see for yourself.

Google do not show all backilnks which he know.

I think PR checker use all backlinks shown in Yahoo and MSN, then check PR for them and count predicted pagerank for target url.

hi

I was wondering about the pr checker too, I mean dont get me wrong, I think its a great little tool but you know I wonder if its gets us a little worked up only to be disappointed. With that said I'm still itching to see if its prediction of a pr4 for my site will come through.

Hi!

I think it is a great tool too. Not because I would be crazy about PR but because PR is what we need for most link exchanges. BUT google is going little crazy lately with PR updates that updated only new pages and so on.. I guess iwebtools knows best how accurate it is since they tested it for sure.

Unless they know the google PR algo, Which they don't, They can't predict anything with any level of accuracy.

Unfortunately the Google algo is some what of a secret. However they aren’t that bad at predicting sites PRs in my experience. They can often over shoot for PRs higher than 4 in my exp

Why dont your guys list your sites along with your current PR and Predicted PR then when google updates, you simply compare and see how accurate it is

Nobody can predict PageRank.
Hell you can't even predict when Google is going to do a backlink or PR upgrade. There just isn't any reliable data available to predict future PRs. The other factor is nobody knows for sure how PR is calculated. And the methods of calculation may be changing on an ongoing basis.

Don't waste your time with this tool!

I think Dre has a good idea, im going to start a thread compare your predicted PR to actual Pr for next update

I could care less about pr but a lot of webmasters are pr fanatics.

I too wonder about how correct this tool is. All other tools say big fat 0 and this one said lower 5 and now it say lower 4. Hope to get something good this time around for those die hard pr fans.

Hum PR prediction went from 0 to 3..... 4 days ago and I have 9000 + links with a site I built in 90 days. Yet I don't see myself on google at all. (not showing up on link popularity checks anyways) Well at least not on the link checkers. I'm listed but not as much as I'd like. Any idea on how to increase or speed up the process of PR ranking by google?

Google updates when it wants, about once every 90+ days.
9000+ links are great how many does google show with this tool? http://www.iwebtool.com/link_popularity

If you have 9000+ with google your in a winner to get high PR when google does the next update.

Currently I'm showing a little over 3000+ links using the checker you provided. I hope that I will be able to come alive once I've completed everything that needs to be done before October, however, It never seems to stop. I update everyday with common links to improve my rating but 3 months is not enough. I guess I'll have to live with it. I'm not a fanatic with pr but I've been told it does help. I will improve as time goes.
