Hey, that's handy. I thought my connection was running a bit slow, so I did the test, and sure enough, download was only at 2200Kbps, and upload was only at 150Kbps.

So the interesting thing is, I have 2 computers hooked up to my connection through a cross-over wire, and on the other computer AresP2P was running, so I reached over and turned it off, and then reran the tests, and here are the results:

Upload:357
Download:4797

That's approaching how fast it should go, and that tells me that Ares is a bandwidth hog!!!
I can't run Ares on my computer anymore, because it would use all of the processor power in spurts, so one second it was at 3% CPU usage, then it would spike to 97% CPU usage, then fall again. It took me several weeks to figure out what was causing the problem, and I had to completely uninstall Ares to fix it, because it even happened in Safe Mode, don't ask me how.

Anyway, thanks for the handy tool.

Hi there,

3% then 97%, what type of processor do you have? And what speed is it?

Regards,
Kieran Taylor.

Is crawlingthenet your own site, or are you promoting it? That is an impressive site, is it really a search engine, or is it a directory? Either way, very impressive.

You have some PHP errors on your Capseek page. Warning MySql Connection error of some type in line 7 and line 9. It only happened the first time I went though, the second time, it loaded fine. It said something about too many connections but I accidently x'ed it out before I got a chance to post this.
