![]() | I've almost 400 sub pages with higher PR (4 and 5) than the home page (PR 3). How do I maximize the higher PR to increase the home page PR? Any suggestions are highly appreciated. Tom |

![]() | I would suggest forgetting about PageRank. PageRank doesn't effect anything anyway. With that said, to get a high pagerank on your home page, I would put a link to the home page on every site and subdomain page, then somehow get backlinks pointing to the home page on other websites. Just the first option might work by itself.

I'd rather agree with your suggestion forgetting PR, but just curious why every body talking about PR. Especially when we do reciprocal links, we must have high PR. Actually my home page gets backlinks from all the sub domain pages. thanks for the suggestion! Tom | |

![]() | PageRank increases your SERP rankings. Pagerank increases value of domains and websites, too... it's also not inaccurate like Alexa ranking. Pagerank is vital.

Backlinks increase your serps, Backlinks cause PR, but that doesn't mean PR increases your SERPS. Think of it like this. Fast runners get gold medals, But that doesn't mean everyone with a gold medal is a fast runner. People confuse the cause and effect of PR completely and they do it all the time.

![]() | I agree with stOx 100%! ![]() People do confuse what comes first, PR or backlinks. Backlinks come first, which make you rank higher, then you get a PR, which doesn't mean anything! ![]() | Backlinks always come first ... PR is great ... it shows importance in google but backlinks get you there ... it's like the chicken or the egg situation ... backlinks or PR however I believe you get the backlinks and the PR will come !!!
