Question Freewebs??

I'm maintaining a freewebs site for a student organization at my school. Personally, I think freewebs is ok, but I want to know what others think. Let me know what YOU think of freewebs in general, and also please suggest any other free website hosting sites that are really good. Thanks everyone!

Lightbulb Re: Freewebs??

I really enjoyed freewebs before I felt it was necessary to purchase hosting and create my own template for projects. But I worked with FreeWebs a lot and certainly wouldnt mind using it again. The forced ads however are a real pain. However I figured out how to remove the forced ads leaving you a grade A website. If you wanted help with this you coul always consult me via PM.

I would recommend you run search on WHT and in google as well. Do they have forum on the web site? If yes - try to find their customers there as well.

I would say paid hosting is anytime better. You can expect to have some accountability there. But of course if it is a webite not worth the effort, go for free web hosting.

Freewebs is probably one of the few stable free hosts.

If you really want to have your site succeed in the long term then you are better choosing a paid hosting solution from a reputable company. Yes there are a few good free hosts out there, but the line they run is thin. In other words they have to make money from advertising, upgrades or something similar to allow them to maintain their equipment and the profit they are attempting to make. The successful ones are good at this and do provide a decent service, but one glitch in their business plan and you are without a website and having to start over.
