![]() | Number of words in a domain .The more words are in a domain name, the less valuable it is. And vice-versa - the less words it contains (ideally one) the more value it represents. For example, "www.design.com" has one word - design. This word is polysemantic to the maximum, because it can denote landscape design, interior design, web design, 3D design and other notions relevant to design. Such domains are appreciated highly. "www.webdesign.com" consists of 2 words - web and design. The value of this domain is a little lower than that of the previous one, because it has more narrow meaning that bounds its scope. "www.customwebdesign.com" includes 3 words - custom web design, and is therefore still less valuable. The article was copy from the http://www.hostway.com/domain-name/index.html |

![]() | Nice Post, Generally, domain names comprised of words are better than a name made up simply as a combination of letters. Long names with several words are typically not as valuable as shorter names with fewer words because shorter names are easier to remember. |

Absolutely, but who is it remembers the domain names, the end user. Not only keep then short but keep them memorable. There wil be occassions where 3 words become easier to remember than 2, this depends on the phrase, I would then question if this makes them less valuable.

![]() | It was not necessary to have a long name for your domain, as long as the right keyword was on the right place, it was just fine..

![]() | Generally shorter is better but you can have success with a longer one especially if it has one of your keywords in it. |

![]() | It depends on the business and availability of domain also. If keyphrase is used in domain name then it is helpful in search engine rankings. |

![]() | Also a domain is as valuable as the marketing that is put behind it. Building the brand is just as important and can have a tremendous effect on its value. Take Google, Yahoo, YouTube and many others. These were not ideal names, but with a good product and great marketing they have become valuable domains. |

![]() | If you have long or short name that does not make any difference. The only difference is if it a longer name then it will not be easy to remember. The value of the domain depends on the PR and not on the name
