OK, here's a start

1 PR is Google's measure, just because you dont have PR doesnt mean its not important, just not to Google
2 PR is based on inbound and outbound links. Maybe its a personal site to share with family, dont want backlinks.

PR is nothing, if you are not interested in hits by google. There are many other ways of getting the targetting traffic, to your site(personal or business). Google is not the only ranking system to rank the quality of your website. It's one of the way to measure the website's popularity.

And remember, you can easily have pr by having backlinks from high page ranked websites/directories. So there is no as big deal page rank is as some people think of it.

no. you can calculate the success of one website if you ranked very well in SERP, you target the audience and visitors through that keywords and probably be a client, the more visitors you get through organic the more chances that your revenue will increase as well as your profits.

A moneyman webmaster can purchase the links from high PR websites and in result google will give good PR to the website. So if you think that website is very strong and good, it is not 100% true. I like the website having PR but it is not necessary that a website having low PR is not getting traffic or not success.

That's just a green bar and nothing else. I am earning more than a PR4 site with PR1(my own). If you have nothing on your site else than a PR then you and your site is useless.

I totally disagree.
PR is actually just a non-important measuring tools to determine a website's success.
It only matters about quality links.
Links doesn't really mean anything as I believe that quality traffic is the most important thing for a website.

I think that is another dilemma which put anybody in an awkward position. For me advertising in other forums through signatures and webmaster forums are big resource. I have a few traffic but mostly my traffic come from US, CANADA, and Australia. I know that a few traffic from there means a lot as compared to have tons of traffic from China.

PR is not everything !!!
not even for Google

I had a site which was PR4 6 months ago with 300 uniques a day
3 months ago it got to PR2 but it had 500 uniques a day
now it is PR0 and gets more than 700 uniques a day

mind you over 80% is google traffic

thus my opinion: Pagerank or at least the one on the google toolbar is COMPLETELY USELESS

people say that google recently keeps an internal PR which is completely different than the green bar on the toolbar

PR is nothing at all, the better your site is optimized to definite keywords, the more rankings your site will gain. Alexa rank is the index of popularity of your site.
