May I know your views why it's a bad idea to use a dash in domain name. As far as I know using dash is good in SEO.

This is an excerpt from google webmasters help:

"Consider using punctuation in your URLs. The URL http://www.example.com/green-dress.html is much more useful to us than http://www.example.com/greendress.html."

If all of your traffic will come from users clicking links to your site, then dashes are annoying, but not harmful.

If-users-have-to-type-in-the-dashes-it-would-probably-hurt-you
(and annoy your users)

If you intend to develop it, hypens OK.
If you want real long term value, by selling it, nope.

only one dash acceptable and can improve SEO. but i prefer short domain because easily type and remember for others.
