I would like to develop a website for english speakers, mostly from UK.

Now I know I would have some advantages if I would buy some hosting in UK, but does it worth doing so ?

I have a nice offer from this UK Web Hosting company, and I am willing to take it, but I would anyway like your advice.

It's perfectly OK to host your site on the USA-based servers, compare the pricing on US and UK hosting, but it's generally acknowledged that US hosting is cheaper, what are the features of the plan you will need?
I have my site hosted with Webhostingbuzz.com and so far have zero complaints to the host, they give lots of resources in their shared plan.

US hosting are fast for any countries users.
as you said forcus on UK, UK hosting are very fast for UK user but for non UK user it's really slow.

I think that US web hosting is cheaper then UK, but UK web hosting is not slower for sure.

For a Europe -oriented site, go for UK-based hosting, if you have have the audience all around the world, US-based host will be perfect for you. The companies with dcs on the eastern coast are Lunarpages.com and Globaltap.com.

You can check Solidhost.com, they are running a special deal now offering VPS plans for free, their datacenter is Europe-located, they are in Amsterdam.

Most of my sites are hosted in the UK and find that these get a better UK traffic ratio than a couple I have in the US (but I also have a .uk TLD on each of these). When thinking about hosting you need to consider your audience, speed, and of course your budget. UK hosted sites should me quicker than non UK hosted for a UK user (it has less network to cross).

I believe the web host you are referring to are resellers rather than host in their own right, nothing really wrong with that of course.
