Post Which hosting is good, USA or UK

Hello,

Just need your opinion.

Comparing few things, UK hosting is expensive compare to USA. So if website is related with UK, do we need to buy hosting from UK servers or servers in USA are fine.

I think that all depend.... On your location, your audience location, your budget...

If you are good with your budget (UK web hosting service more expensive) - go for the one which is near you.

You may use a web hosting company that provides their services both in the UK and USA. I have known that MarbleHost.com has their datacenters in those countries.

So I see no reason to consider MarbleHost.com a non-hosting company. Dedicated servers plans aren't an indicator of the company at all and their free bonuses are the great attraction to their clients.

imrankhan, I believe 85% of web hosting companies nowadays are resellers if we would take into consideration that dedicated servers can be resold .

I know what you mean but i always give preference to company. The reason is only trust. You can trust on registered hosting companies but how can we trust on reseller. I am not saying all resller are bad but there are only few. I have bad experience with one hosting company realy crap so very careful after that.

Browse WHT if you need threads comparing UK hosting to that in the USA, but generally if your audience will be in Europe, a US-based host with servers on the eastern coast will do fine for you. I know that one of the datacenetrs used by webhostingbuzz.com is New Jersey, look into their new deals.
Also check global hosting offers, there are lots of them offered today.

There are real web hosting company under reseller. I think that it is important factor. Because resellers chose their company by the same factors you choose shared account.

If you are hosting a co.uk and your audience is in the UK I'd try to find hosting in the UK. No one knows the exact secret SERP sauce but if you can find hosting that is almost the same price I'd likely be worth it.

If your target audience is in UK, it makes sense to select UK hosting. Local IPs will give you higher postiion on google.co.uk

Look at your own requirements, in particular your target audience. If you are aiming for a UK audience and using a .uk TLD then hosting is the UK, even for a .com. Google in particular looks at the domain and host IP to identify a geographical localisation for the site. Hosting a .com in the US does not automatically indicate a global interest, but certainly not a uk interest. Look at your requirements carefully before deciding. Local IP's in themselves will not necessarily give a higher position, but will provide a more focused listing in the geographical region.

That's quite an intersting thing about Marblehost.com being a reseller and whether it can be called a hosting company or not, I wonder how many hosting companies you know that haven't started as resellers? Is this really somehting that means? I'm asking as probably when choosing a hosting provider I should check aren't they resell from someone.
