Lightbulb Help needed with expanding menu javascript

Hello!

I've been working with a free script that I got from the following site...

http://javascript.internet.com/navig...ding-menu.html

Basically the only changes I made were the text and hrefs for the items on the menu and added/removed some extra sub-menu items etc. I haven't made any alterations to the javascript at all. It's a great wee script and basically does exactly what I've been looking for but now that I've started incorporating it into a website, I've encountered a slight problem in that when you click on a sub-menu item to navigate to a new page, the menu re-sets to its original state with the sub-menus being hidden again - I would rather that when you clicked on a sub-menu item to navigate to a new page, all the sub-menu items would remain visible when viewing the target page.

Is there any way for a page to "remember" what status the menu was in just prior to loading the current page? Is this what cookies can be used for? Can anyone suggest anything to help as javascript completely new to me (hence my using a free script and not writing my own!).

Thanks in advance!

Default Re: Help needed with expanding menu javascript

P.S. http://www.mackaywebdesign.co.uk/index2.htm shows the example of the menu in the site...

It's the "Our Clients" link that's causing the problem
