I would say quick indexing and good amount of inbound links if your story goes hot

Digg itself isn't the important factor here, it what it can do for you. It gets your site recognised and publicised, provides backlinks and more importantly can direct traffic to your site.

Social bookmarking is a great tool for this, Digg is one of the more recognised SB sites. Try others too, Technorati, Furl, etc.

If any news is useful and informative then it dugg by the people and people bookmark it. Search engine indexed it more frequently and it visible in result pages.

Well all I can say about digg was they had a strong security to avoid spam.

Of course it would... Digg helps on getting fast indexing for your sites. Also, if it has a good quality content, it can give you a lot of traffic...

Still, even for interesting stories it can be hard to get any significant amount of diggs unless you already have a large reader following. However, Digg does help in quick indexing

I am using digg.com regularly these days. Posting interesting news in digg.com. I also found spammers in digg. I think they will blocked the id of spammers.

Digg is just loaded with web pages links in every possible subject one could think of. They are crawled by the search engines for hundreds of times a day and that is no wonder the links appearing there are seen by the big engines quickly.
