Anyone using SPF protection as a feature of their hosting plan?

The only SPF I know about has no relation to hosting (it's sun protection factor - no sunburn on me). Whats the SPF you are referring to?

Sender Policy Framework (SPF) -Is a method to prevent sender address forgery. An SPF Record is set-up in your DNS tools for your domain. When you send email from your domain the receiver checks the DNS records for a SPF record and looks to see what servers are allowed to send mail for your domain, if it is from a server not listed in your SPF record then it is considered SPAM.

SPF has been around for a while and an even newer system called Domain Keys is being pushed by sites like Yahoo! and MSN...

Have you guys ever received an email from your own email id which of course you never sent? Well SPF help prevent such cases from happening. Can you imagine someone else sending mass junk emails using your email id and your website getting penalized because of this? SPF has parameters which you can set to stop others using your email.

So that's what it's called. My host operates this (although doesn't explicity use SPF term). To prevent spam of any description is good, if this helps then good.

I have seen the same offer from Ahosting.biz. Nearly all web hosting companies provide this feature as it prevents spamming.
