![]() | I am just wondering if web site traffic has impact on Google positions? Does Google take into consideration this fact when ranging web sites?

![]() ![]() ![]() | I don't think so. Unless you sign up for Google analytics how would google measure the traffic?

![]() | I think Google knows how many visitors your site is getting without you implementing Google Analytics. GA helps YOU know how many people visited your site. And yes, I believe the number of unique visitors to your site will affect your Google positioning and also your PR. |

![]() | I think it does indirectly, because more traffic is likely to result in more inbound links as time passes and more people see the site and that would likely lead to better rankings. |

![]() | There are ways for Google to track your visitors like Google tool bar or Alexa. Who knows what else. |

![]() | This is an interesting point. I was actually thinking this myself the other day. Based on some of my own techniques i also do strongly agree that google ranks depending on your traffic levels. |

![]() ![]() | This is interesting, and fun! Do the math, or apply logic, and we can really complicate this discussion (or just have fun). (nice site = get Google rank) + (get Google rank = get Google traffic) + (get Google traffic = nice site + more rank + more traffic) My theory: They are all related, and by coincidence nice sites have better traffic and ranking, but high traffic is the end result, not the cause of ranking but higher traffic occurs because of ranking. I see (nice site = snowball rolling downhill and adding traffic and rank). This is a lot like which one is first, the chicken or the egg? Any more cliches to add?

| Member | I disagree. My serps have not changed despite a drop in traffic. As Alan says, although Google is the power that is, unless you have the monitoring stuff, webmaster or ana, then I can not see how it knows your traffic, unless it montiors page clicks from its own page.

![]() | No google don't care about the traffic you are getting. Infact there is another ranking system "Alexa" that rates websites based on there traffic. Google consider on-page and off-page seo factors to rate any site's popularity.
