link extractor result?

link extractor is returning only 4-5 links from my home page instead of 47 what other link extractors are returning. Can you explain why?

I believe every one has her or his good tools.

Maybe there are many kinds of links or maybe only URLs
and it is all depend on what kind of links that you are seeking.
for example:
some tools will only count http therefore you will get a super big number
some tools will only count href= therefore you will get a bigger number
some tools will only count <a href=""> therefore you will get a smaller number

also the older version servers may not run well with new code
it often comes out a very small number
