Hello,

I have just launched a new web directory and am going to be promoting all over the web. What I am offering is the first 5,000 links added to the directory a FREE listing. After the 5,000 link it will be then placed on paid listing’s only!

What is the point of these directories? There is no real theme, and they appear to be identical. I typically avoid directories, and I've never actually heard of a person using one to find information.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but judging by the double post and the low post count, I''d say this was some good old-fashioned spam.

HouseOfRock: Before making judgements, know most/all the facts. Directories provide valuable backlinks to your site to increase your search ranking and PR. Robots love legit directories.

Forgive my mistake, and welcome to the community Zopso. You'll have to understand that I've seen quite a good deal of spam in my days; it makes me rather cynical.
