Up & Down in Google

My site is going crazy on Google. I know they were doing an update a week or so ago but I understand that that has completed now. I have got as high as no. 11 for my target keywords, but then all of a sudden I drop abouto 20 places then back up then back down again.

I am not changing my front page at all, save for changing the home page main image (maintaining the alt tags) every now again.

Does this happen to others and if so is it nromal ?

not only you but all of us and that is what do we call "Google dance"...and that is the challenge of every SEO...better optimize your site to maintain your good ranking 'coz you are not the only one who is optimizing site...

I am seeing any "Google dance" for my SERPs. Same rankings are not sure, you need to update your site regularly with fresh content and continous back link building.

Many are there in competition buddy!

My SERPS are generally stable, but I am seeing some of them dancing to Google's merry tune.

It happened to me also, but now it is stable.

I think this is case for most of sites. With continuos update it changes and then come back to normal.

That's perfectly normal with Google I guess.

I also think that's normal Googles behavior. Googl always make some movements, so no one can figure it out what would be the next step. Could you imagine the situation when Googl algorythm is known and clear to webmasters? I guess, many people will try to trick and scam it.

So, we have to do what normally Google likes, good content, SEO, backlinks and so on, and I expect one day Google will pay for the hard work.
