![]() | Google love to have XML Sitemap protocol as defined by sitemaps.org.Because of the reason that you can easily upgrade an XML Sitemap later on to include more metadata.Yu can also create multiple sitemaps and use a Sitemap Index file to list them all. Html format is not recognised by the google Sitemap formats and this will result in showing errors. What sitemaps pritority means According to google's help center as "priority only indicates the importance of a particular URL relative to other URLs on your site, and doesn't impact the ranking of your pages in search results." Does submitting a sitemaps guarantees your submission to google : Well answer is simply no

![]() | Submitting a sitemap does not guarantee crawl. But some believe it does help. I would rather use other methods to get the site crawled faster.

![]() | Sitemap is for faster crawling.. SEs will depend on the sitemap links and crawls it soon.... But even without sitemap still SEs crawls the site.. For deep links is the purpose of sitemap and for easier navigation and better visibility by search engines. Sitemaps offer the opportunity to inform search engines immediately about any changes on your site.... |

![]() | I would agree with Spency. Using the sitemap feature at Google has seemed to help with indexing more pages and would seem most beneficial for large sites, especially those with rapidly changing/expanding content. It would also seem obvious that a new site, lacking in existing external links, will also find benefit in at least alerting Google to all of the content that is available for indexing more quickly. And as Google points out, site maps also help with content that might difficult to spider due to javascript functionality or other complex presentations including sites using any flash navigation at all. alemcherry may be right in that they have little or no use, but considering how easy it is to output a sitemap, especially if you have any kind of CMS or otherwise database driven site, it seems to me a harmless and inexpensive extra tool. But at the very least by submitting a sitemap, you get a definitive count on how many pages of your site have been indexed. And isn't that what we all need? More statistics ![]()

![]() | I have had pretty good luck by submitting sitemaps to both Yahoo & Google. It seemed to help them index my pages quicker. I like the simplicity and results generated by xml-sitemaps.com but I think it is users choice.
