(he says, this prevents from damage) I need internet in my Administrator account, so as to work with internet applications, that I cannot do in less privileged mode.. like Nokia Update etc. He had done some IP address changes that can not be accessed in Less Privileged mode. But one day there was a problem that required net. he just changed some values in TCP IP properties Administrator and did something that brought internet in Administrator. But he removed it suddenly b4 I cud understand...? Now what.. Can anyone tell me how to bring internet connection in My administrator mode. I am paying for it guys but I have to login in that account to access net and this is not fair.. Solution Needed PLZ. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | It's not 100% clear what you're after here, but it sounds like your PC guy is the only one with Admin priviledges, so he's the only one who can give you the access you need. restricting accesss to more technical features is the whole point of this... stops you screwing up things you don't understand! ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() | Hi, I understand generally what your getting at, but what you've written does not make sense. "I need internet in my Administrator account, so as to work with internet applications," - now when your administrator you have administrator access. So your statement here is quite puzzling. I can imagine you have two accounts, one as yourself which sensibility is 'LESS Privileged Account' you also have an administrator account that is full access to everything. Do you not know the password to the administrator account? If so why are saying you can't do certain things in it? An administrator can do everything, perhaps you don't know how, or perhaps you just don't have the password. Somewhat confused to which it is. Anyway, sounds like you have to talk to your 'Techy' guy because either You don't understand what your suppose to be doing (seems quite likely) or that something is messed it up. Either way, contact the guy and sort it out.

see .. I am also a professional and solve people's probs.. Thing is that I know my administrator password.. When I go into my TCP/IP properties, I can see the IP addresses. But I have Internet installed in my PC. I Mean.. there is a cable to my house and an ISP of course, called SIFY that provides me internet. But whenever I have to use my internet, I have to log-off from administrator and relogin into the less privileged account. Now Bottomline is... I can give privileges to my less privileged account.. so as to see the settings used, that can be copied to administrator. But when I do so, and then login into that account, the internet is not connected..actually, gets disconnected When I remove privileges and set it as standard user, only then I Can access internet into that account. now when set as standard user, I cannot see the TCP/IP proprerties and hence cannot copy the numbers (IP subnet and gateway) and apply to My administrator account. gOT it? any solution | |

![]() ![]() ![]() | So, if you've got Admin access, just give the 'less priveleged' accound more privrleges! You have the power!! No, not really. ![]()

Almost how I would suggest. The first thing I would do is duplicate the "less priveleded" account, thus retaining all of the settings. Next as suggested promote the account to an administrator. There is an assumption in IT support that I use "If it can be broken, then the user will at least try" that'll be why your IT guy is restricting access. There is another way just ask your IT guy to set up the admin account for internet access. I know I'd be asking if he's masking something, but then again networking's one of my areas of interest. I would assume that he's using a static IP, this could be what he's protecting. The IP needs to be unique, even so you would only be logging on as 1 user at a time, and the IP is linked to the machine only.
