Its not new, but I have just started trying it. The results are starting to look good.
Making a "lense" is easy.
Optimising it to help your site takes a little work.

I had forgotten about this. Used it some time ago and didn't find it too straightforward. Need to make another visit and try it again.

Having a Squidoo lens can be an extra advantage for the web/business. I have checked some of the squidoo pages are more easily ranked in SEs than a normal website for the targeted keywords.

From SEO point of view, what advantage a Squidoo lens have, that a normal web page doesnt? I guess none. It should not be any diffrenet from say a google pages page discussing about your product. I just see only ameatures jumping at such silly things.

Just found my Squidoo page has a PR of 1.

Amazing that such a page should even get a PR of 1 filtered through.
