![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'm not doing a very good job at getting this forum to be a decent forum. What do I mean by a decent forum? http://forum.triphp.com <---that is the kind of forum this one should aspire to be... So, what I am offering is the chance for you, yes you, to be a super moderator of iWebTool forum. I am looking for 3 individuals. You have to tell me what it is that you would do to help alleviate the almost non-stop spamming that occurs here. Almost every member of this forum is here simply to advertise. Whatever 3 members come up with the best ideas for the forum, you will have the chance to make those ideas a reality. I will be assinging an IWT cabinet. There will be 1 member that will be head of that cabinet, and the other 2 will be there to help support him/her. Whatever you decide is best for the forum, I will support.... For those of you that are asking "What about Bagi and Midlandi?", they will still be here too. They will do the same thing that I do, they will be in the background, just watching, waiting, and hoping..... So give it to us straight, what would you do if this were your forum? |

Every forum has spam, it's quite normal. Just you notice it more here because you get involved. While if you just browse the forum as a member you'd hardly ever see it. I can't remember the last bit of spam I've seen on IWT, it's certainly been a while.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | It would encourage me to make more quality posts there is not one forum at this board i atleast don't have a little knowledge in. I log in every day as well and browse all new posts Plus i already have experience in the backend of this site I can create threads that are actually worth reading a long with me being able keep dissent threads going. In the last 4 months i have not read one thread at iwebtool that i couldn't have been a help with Im very blunt and speak the truth

Jump, don't pu youself down, running a forum is not that easy as you're experiencing, you're doing a fine job. Quote:
There's a number of members that are here to advertise their site(s), it certainly isn't all of us. It looks to me that ther are a core of members that are regular constructive contributers. Quote:
To be honest and blunt I don't know. I've only been a member for 15 month but I don't want the forum to go under, it's how can we grow it. There's a helluva lot of members who dont post. Can I suggest we start here and strip down the membership, what I mean is by looking at the members list there are members joined in 2005, 2006, who last accessed the forum on their join date and have 0 or 1 post. What does anyone else think about this?

![]() | Denying spammers sounds fun! There could be some simple code added that makes all URLs posted be nofollow 'till the poster reaches 50 posts. Then there wont be people posting just to build up their links (unless they really want to make 50 quality posts). |
