 |  dedicated server? is it better to have a remote dedicated server or to host everything on your own computer? with current speeds?

| Re: dedicated server? There are more minuses then pluces with that. Sure you can do it on your dectop. Constant connection speed, good conditions, web server, dedicared IP etc are requried to get started

| Re: dedicated server? If you are on cable or DSL your upload speed is probably 756kb up. Think if you have 2 people connecting to your site at the same time, and you are surfing the web... they will feel like they are back on dial up. If you are planning on hosting files of any kind or plan to have a business or money making site, I would pay for hosting. If it is a hobby site / something to play with, have fun!
