Actually I just finished custom coding my own forum so I am able to confirm now that it works well.

I also thought it might be interesting to have a "Recent Blog Post" type of feature.

If anyone has any questions on what I mean, just visit my forums' different threads to see what I coded into it (although you may have to register to see the "Rep Box").

That's true, don't know of any other forum that has thread closing. Most forum just advise against unnecessary bumping of old threads. Several times I've wanted to post on an old thread. Some times I've asked for the thread to be re-opened and then forgot what I was previously intending to say.

i agree with the thread closing it was a very poor choice

They dont want people pr thread hunting i guess. But how easy would it be just to deleted useless posts?
