Default Keyword density checker

Hi Everyone,

I'm not sure I'm understanding fully on how the keyword density checker works.
Is the idea to get as many words highlighted in yellow from the results?
What is a good number for being highlighted in yellow, before going back and re-editing content?
Thanks for the help

Well I believe the tool helps you detirmine how well you are targeting certain keywords.

For example, say you're tarketing the keywords "miami beach" to rank high for those in Google or other search engines. Using this tool, you can find out how "dense" in the webpage your keywords are that you are targeting.

Also, welcome to iWEBTOOL ^_^

Hi,
Thanks for responding, this is a very nice forum. The people are friendly and nice. I read some of the other topics and post.
I had heard that if you over use a keyword, that google will pentalize you and your ranking will suffer. I'm not sure if that is true, that is why I was wondering if anyone knew if in the word denisty checker, the goal was to get as many highlighted words that you could, or are those words highlighted b/c you have repeated them too many times.
Thanks Teakey

Hi there,

First of all welcome to the forum, and yes I think compuXP is exactly right there. Just thinking about that comment you made on Google penalizing people for using the same keyword too often, think I have heard that before, although I won't say it's true as it could just be a rumor, although I could understand why they would penalize you, because it would be unfairly balancing that keyword to one persons site. Take in to account that there is so many words, and that more than one website will want to be related to it.

If you find out whether it is true, please tell us, I know I would be interested in knowing. And if I do before you I'll do the same.

Enjoy joining the community at iWebTool.

Hi Simple Network,
This is what I heard, people caught "keyword stuffing" will be penalized by google and possibly banned by other search engines. You want to keep your keyword density between 3-7 %. as not to trigger a Keyword stuffing alert.
This information came from a "SEO" company. If it is true or not, I do not want to take the risk of finding out. I put entirely too much work into this site too be penalized or banned. My site is actually (4) sites viewd as one.
Someone might know this question: In order to find out your percentage of a word on your page, do you count all the words and total them out of the density checker, and then divide how many times that word is seen, or do you total all the words on your page, and then divide?
Thanks Teakey

Just a quick note. I wanted to say "Thank-you for everyone making me feel so welcome". I cant express to you how nice it is to participate in a community that is so inviting and welcoming. I've been doing some research in chemistry, one of the forums is so judgmental, attackful, and down right mean. I'm afraid to post a question, and down right cringe at having to read the answer. I'm about ready to tell them to take their high and mighty attitudes and go pound sand. In short, I quess what I'm trying to say is not all forums are as nice as this one, and thank-you. I really do not know much, however what I do know I'm willing to share. Thanks Teakey

Keywords powerball 69 on http://www.powerball.cc index.

But can't find the density in % with the checker?
Also a very strange layout in the test although that page is w3c html 4.0 compliant???

And is therefore 69 times powerball on that page to much?
