User Management Login Script

Does anyone know of a good script or program out there to create a login / user management script for protecting files and directories that would keep a history log (date and time) of all user logins and possibly what pages the user visited?

I am currently using the htaccess / htpasswd method now. Is there a way to create a report from the htaccess file?

I have seen many scripts out there, but most don't offer what I need or offer more then what I need! I need something in the middle!
