Default Weird Scenario - Can Someone Explain??

I have a mature website (around 4 years old) with good rank, thousands of pages indexed and lots of one way links pointing to it.

I added some 50 pages with dynamic content that changes daily, and in about 2 weeks from that moment 95% of them were already indexed and were in top 20 to 80 results in G (depending on the page).

2 weeks later I started to build back-links for all of the new pages by submitting related articles to some 500 article directories. Nothing fancy, 1 article for every 3 keywords - around 20 articles all together submitted one per day.

The SERPS steamed up and I begun ranking between top 2 to 25 results for the same keywords in a month.

2 weeks later I decided to repeat the article submissions (different articles) but this time, I submitted 2 per day. - around 20 articles all together.

Now 2 weeks after I finished my submissions I noticed that 60% of the keywords lost 2 to 3 positions in SERPS (Meaning went from lets say number 8 to 11).

5 days after that 95% of the keywords were removed from SERPS OVER NIGHT, the other 5% lost their ranks by 10 to 15...

The strange thing is that the pages WERE NOT completely removed from G - the URLs are still there, and the G continues to spider ALL of the removed from SERPS pages on daily basses. (catch is updated every day)

Any clues what is happening? Or how should I deal with this?

Thanks a lot in advance.

Sorry for my ignorance, but what exactly are you saying??

PS: the directories I submitted to have the PR between 0 and 5...

Just to bring even MORE confusion to the subject, the PR on my website has just been updated (it went up today) and I see that G has assigned the PR4 to most of the removed pages. (pages were new and thats why did not have a PR until today)

Again if ANYONE has any clues as to what is UP and why is that happening - I will really appreciate ANY input.

Thanks in advance!

I'm interested in seeing replies to this. I know that e107 (CMS) has horrible SEO abilities.

In all honesty I can't explain but just to say it's quite common for such things to happen.

So Google has given your keywords a lower ranking for some reason.
It could be so many things, that it's all really a guess.
So things to think about.
Did the site contents change, if so maybe some change on the site has meant Google is not happy with it.
Did the hosting change?
Did the backlinks change(Backlink are link that point to your site)?
Did the contents of your site/page get duplicated on another site?
And lastly it might be there was no change anywhere yet Google revised it's calculations of how to rank sites and your site lost out.

Checking now and seems your Drum site is actually listed quite well, is the problem still occurring?

Thank you VERY much for your reply.

Yes, the problem is still there, the strange thing is that the pages were doing better and better everyday for 3 month, and than all of them (50 pages) went down overnight.

Here is one of the problematic pages that was number 3 before:

Paiste http://www.drumsoloartist.com/drumstore/Paiste.php

and this one was number 5:

Premier Drums http://www.drumsoloartist.com/drumst...mier_Drums.php

Nothing has changed on the pages, the only thing I did is submit the articles... Thats all...

Any thoughts are REALLY appreciated. - Thank you.

That is completley unproven.

And this post is nothing to do with PR, its SERP's.
