I don't think that the stats you gave say near as much as the dollar amount. If you made that consistently, then your site should sell for about $8000 to $10000. Although, as I understand it, the site is still growing, so if in a few months you are making $1000 and a few months later $1100, you would be able to sell it for twice that amount.

I implemented a points system there
It costs points to dl torrents.
there are several EASY ways to get points. The most popular way is by donating
5 bucks for unlimited downloads. USERS are lazy and would rather pay than post in the forums or upload a torrent for a torrent or any of the other simple ways to get points..

Its amazing when you open you inbox and see a donation for 50 bucks
20 bucks 30 bucks 10 bucks, it goes on and on

Myself i dont think would ever donate as much as 50 bucks to any site..
Any how thats where 95% of the income comes from

I know that most business usually sale for the amount on money that the place generates in a year
Not profit. So i guess you could look at a site the same way.

I think that the model works better with websites....It's a simple way for lower profit businesses to determine their worth. On the other hand, most big business' are sold for sometimes 10 times the amount they make in profits a year. I think the big difference is that websites are extremely trendy, and while a site might make a said amount per month now, it's more unlikely that site will still be in existence in 5 years. If you have a site that has been doing business for 5 or 6 years, and it is bringing in $10000 a month in profits, and is still growing, then it's quite possible that you could fetch as much as 40 or 50 times its monthly profits.

Also just a question, why not look at building the brand more and selling for loads more dosh...well with a bit of luck, and hard work..

There are many factors when selling a website. a good rule is 3-12 months worth of income assuming a decent profit margin and the amount of work required for that. If it takes you 4 hrs per day to maintain a site and it nets 1000 per month then that is basically $58 per hour. I like to look at what i am willing to pay for something that makes me $58 per hour and how long my pay back will be. But at the end of the day it's only worth what someone will pay for it. Someone may have other revenue ideas, they may want to incorporate it into the current network and cross sell, etc.
