So, 4 years with this PC, Mcafee has done an amazing job in that time, never looked elsewhere.

Caught all the viruses, got rid of them, nice.

Then last night was going through a list posted on here about Directories (a list of pr 5 - 3 ones on another site), especially the old ones with good PR, and BANG.

The first every virus to knock Mcafee out dead.

Have restored the majority of it, but still have on regkey that is always starting up that I just need to remove.

I could understand if I was doing something wrong, but trying to just submit your site to a directory and to get it transferred via IE is just horrible.

The ironic thing is, I mostly use Firefox, I wish I had of last night.

For people like me who work from home and rely on the PC, I invest money is security and routers, but it just still happens.

It really gets me down. I don't how safe I am any more, it just really, really gets me down.

Sorry to whinge !

I know the feeling. Anytime we get a virus or something to inhibit us from our work, I feel its a physical violation, almost as bad as if they were to have come in my home. Same thing just a different level.

One would think that these people who make the virus' should put their smarts to better use.

Bad luck Spency, it's a real pain when you rely on your PC.

(It's also one of the many reasons I've abandoned PCs in favour of Macs)

Things like that dont really bother me to be honest I format and reinstall windows every 5-6 months anyways cos its a water cooled gaming rig and I like to keep it in tip top condition.

But unlucky fella best thing to do is just always make sure you have upto date back ups so if anything goes badly wrong all you gotta do is reinstall windows and transfer you stuff over.
