Can link popular help page rank?
why my link popular in Google is 1 but my back links are 1,748?
I linked my site here:

Learn to use the search function fella this and the other thread you made have been covered so many times you could have got your answers yourself so easy.

Right Google does not show all backlinks for any sites and they never have then do not support the idea of link exchanging, selling or anything to increase backlink backlinks in a false way.

Just because you have linked to your site from 1 site means absolutly nothing it takes many links to raise PR, the higher the PR of the page linking to you the more effect it will have on increasing your PR. Google only updates the PR it shows to the public once every 3-4 months so you have to wait for the next PR update before you get to know wether the work you have done has worked in increasing your sites PR.

I agree with johneva. You must exchange link with sites that are related to your sites category with a high PR. Avoid link farms.

One way linking is also the way to go.

Try to get into the directories etc, and some of them charge a few £ / $ to get featured, check the PR on the featured page and go for it.

The higher the PR that links to you, there more effective it will be for your PR.

But, don't get to caught up in PR, concentrate on making your site the best it can be in terms of content.

That is not true, pagerank has nothing to do with relevance of links !

Pagerank is just a calculation of links, it doesnt just pick the relevant ones out !

Your confusing 2 issues 1 being serps that actually means somthing and 2 pagerank which means nothing !

Pagerank means nothing? Are you sure? How could Google create PR if it means nothing? Tell me...You are just telling us that the real facts that PR matters...

If PR is nothing to you. Then Google must not use it as one of it's algorithm...
And PR has indirect connection to SERPs. Since SERPs one factor are backlinks....

PR really does mean nothing when it comes to serp's have a search around yourself, Just look at how many PR6-7 sites are beaten by PR2-3 sites for searches, now if PR ment a great deal in search algos this just would not happen as there is a big jump in PR there. I understand there are many other factors to take into consideration but even sites which have simular on page optimization and same age domains are beaten by sites with way lower PR.

PR really does mean nothing unsless you plan on buying and selling links then it means you will be looking at a higher prices for high PR links due to so many people thinking PR actually means something.

Alexa rank is also hugley misunderstood the amount of people who think it actually means anything is a joke, Alexa traffic rank also means naf all and i easy to manipulate to make your figures look better than they really are.

What makes you think it holds any wheight in the Google algo's?

The amount of PR 6-7 sites I have seen beaten in serp's by PR2-3 sites even though on page optimization means is much the same, thats why I say PR means nothing cos from my experiance of getting high serps PR does not come into the equation, PR should have been binned ages ago as it dont mean anything from my experiance, I maybe wrong nothing in SEO is 100% cos the SE's dont tell us exactly whats going on, but I have had sites drop in PR and yet have higher serp results than ever so if PR is so important why is that?

Why get angry cos people have a different opinion to you BTW?

If alot of people keep saying it then dont you think there maybe some truth in it and it is worth investigating further? Intead of just putting a angry face on your post and saying were all wrong.

I can only give peope advise from the experiances I have had I am not saying I am always right or wrong just telling people my opinion from my experiance, from the experiances I have had with SEO work I see no value in PR and you will find most SEO gurus will say the exact same thing.

Pr is just a means to measure links ! it has nothing to do with serps ! and if you think about it how could it, or all the top pr sites would be hogging the top 30 on serps and that would be terrible, and that quite clearly doesnt happen EVER !

I agree john, why get angry about it, i am talkin from my own experiances, if you dont agree thats fair enough.

But my advice to any new webmasters, is to forget pr ever existed it will save you a lot of time and effort in the long run !

PR is ALMOST useless when it comes to SERPS
Anybody can disagree but,
I can confirm from my own experiments

A high PR page though will be visited more often by the googlebot so a Link on it will be seen faster ... any other influence on the actual SERPs are quite minimal if not coincidental ...

Visitors come from good serp's and good serp's dont come from high PR thats what we are getting at. ranking high in search terms in the search engines is something completely different to getting high PR. PR means nothing which is what we are trying to let you know.

A better question should be how can I get high serp's or how can I get higher on search engines results, not how do I get high PR.


No everybody does not try to get high PR something we keep trying to get accross to you, I dont care if I am -100PR myself aslong as my serp's are good and my traffic is high and of good quality thats all I care about and PR will not help either.
