My first impression is difficult to read due to the layout,font and size of text.

Yeah I have to agree the layout really does make it hark work to read and navigate your way around the page there is no flow if you get me, just turning me off straight away and something I would normally move right on.

Also I hate the use of tables for webite layout so that would be a huge improvement to have got rid of the tables and done it with CSS.Something I also hate the use of is javascript menus they are terrible for so many reasons SEO wise and for the people who have javascript turned off.

Looks like your new to doing this though so good effort some good stuff on there but try and steer clear of tables and javascript in future projects. Tables have there uses and it is for displaying tabular data only.

Full of content...I always appreciate content based website. And you have used it in a very good way. But yeah! that's right, You really need to do something with your font color, So it could be easily readable by visitors as Your target would be peoples, not search engines.. Right?

Content is good but didn't the like the layout.

Text are too close ... put some line height. Try to change the layout ... you will have a excellent site.

Really well written content and the layout looks fine, would maybe make the navbar a little bit more subtle though, apart from that nice site.

Looks Ok I dont like the picture of that guy looks bad put more borders around everything to make it look nice.

I agree with the site having that dated feel especialy if its for hire'but that said if it was me I would try and simplify color theme and layout for ease of reading.
I liked the site as is- to satisfy your target market the 40 + hobbiest, but if you are going to do business you might like to change the image. just a thought...
