I have a question: do you run SEO yourself or hire someone?
Estimated time to get profit from SEO?
Please share your experience.
Thank you in advance.

I second that also add read some good Blogs on the subject.
There are some very good SEO people you can pay, but they are not cheap. If you can afford it and the end justifys the means go for it.
There are also some out and out rip off merchants out there who will take your money and do worse than you would do if you learnt some yourself.

I do SEO work for other companys, time depends on what the search terms you are looking to do well in and the money your prepared to spend to get the work done.

Average is probley about 3 months for a good a reasonable rank in a reasonaly popular set of search terms at a standard rate of cost. To then get profit from you business from the SEO work done depends how good the product you sell is and how much profit you make from your product.

So to give you answer for the question your asking is near enough impossiable IMO, but to get good ranks in a Google for reasonable rates of cost and in a average competative search term your normally looking around 3 months.

If I knew the serch terms you wanted to do well in and the money your prepared to spend could give you a better idea, but 3 months is a pretty safe bet For near enough anything if the money is right.

You could look at doing it yourself but to be honest depending on what work you do for a living you would be better of concentrating on the work you do for a living rather than learning a new trade to do one website, SEO has alot of stuff to learn and it is very time consuming so unless your time costs nothing to you then pay for somebody who knows what they are doing. You will get faster better results this way and will mean you can concentrate on your business intead of learning SEO and fiddling around with stuff all the time.

Too many people try and rush rush rush.

It takes 3 - 5 months to acheive anything, and you have to work really hard to get this done.

Should you get a professional to do this? If you have the money, of course, it will free your time.

Can you do it yourself? Yes, with time and effort and making use of the experience on here, you can indeed.

But, be patient, there is no magic trick that will get you higher overnight, and if there is, it will backfire.

Hmm... You got me interested I was not planning to hire anyone right now, and (I dont know your prices) but will go on with this if... I mean does this sound reasonable:

I need just one keyword, thats all...

Keyword: Drum Forum

Price I am prepared to pay: $1.000.00

Yes that is correct I am prepared to pay $1.000.00 for one keyword, but I want it to be AT LEAST in top 4, preferably in top 3 in Google.

So ... Do you think that it is possible? Is the budget good enough??

PS: I am currently in top 8 for that keyword.

PM me if serious...

Are you only interested in getting into the top 4 in Google? All you are interested in is getting to top 4 for drum forum, nothing else? I could do this for you, although, no one can guarantee top 4 position in Google, I think that it is achievable. What time line are you looking for?

Yes, I am only interested in this ONE keyword. and No, I am not ONLY interested in getting to number 4 in Google, (of course the desired position is number one), but number 4 AT LEAST is what I would expect.

A little of topic story:

I have already hired someone from this forum (I will not mention any names right now) but he promised that I will see some results, shortly after the first month of his campaign, and that I will see the full results after everything he have done gets spidered. (we talked about a 3 to 4 month campaign)

Guess what: 3 month after my initial payment, I still dont have anything accept the first (initial) report he send me, and a few ideas of what should I do. - So basically, no real work or results... (and I did not get my money back, all I got is an apology, but who needs it anyway??)

Back to the subject:

So I made a little more research on the subject, and found something out:

This is how it works with big companies and big name SEOs:
No one can guarantee the number 1 place at Google for any keyword, BUT you should be able to guarantee the minimum expected results (along with the timeframe to see the results) - so if you are good, you should be able to provide the same level of confidence! - Otherwise, it is a waste of time and money!

Ok, I will not reply to this thread anymore, cause I dont want to get it completely off topic, so if you are interested in following this up, just PM me.

Cheers.
