Red face Have other people been on your computer?

Hey,

I wrote a quick little program to start up every time your computer does. Windows 95+. Put the .exe file in your "Startup" folder on your start menu.

It will show you the last time and date your computer was started up. If it's not when YOU were last on it, then somebody else might be using your computer.

The best thing is, they can't stop it from executing because it starts up right when the computer does, and the moment it appears it logs the current timestamp so by the time they realize that they're gonna be caught, it's too late.

File attached. Download and unzip. It costs 25 iPoints to download. If you don't have 25 iPoints, then post to get some!

Thanks,
-Matt

Hi there,

I'm interested, although what if someone realised they got caught and placed the date/time back in the BIOS, and then restarted the computer, would that be defensive.

Please tell me, I might download it.

Good Luck with the software.

Hey Kieran,

As long as you remember the last time you turned on the computer, and they don't, you should be able to tell a difference. Most people don't know how to turn the date/time back in the BIOS, but... I suppose I could write a little something to make it catch that and alert you to it. However, I don't have the time right now...

Thanks,
-Matt

Hi there,

Thank you for the reply compuXP, I will download it as soon as I have loads of iPoints, I have been a user of this site for a while, but have only just recently had time to use it again as I have been busy. Once I have posted for a while I will build points.

Good Luck on the software development.

Yeah, he's pretty cool. The only software I develop anymore is just little tid-bits and tools that help me when I need it.

Hi there,

compuXP when you design anymore software, please post it in iWebTool, and if it's any interest to me and it could be useful we could do a deal and I'll distribute it through my site. Just a suggestion although not a promise.

Do you have a site where you put all your software already?

TAISOFT.ORG - Thank you.
