Default about SEO

hi to all guys....
Are nested tables hinderance for search engine optimization ....my question is related to search engine optimization. Some web design companies do not use nested tables and only use CSS (cascading style sheets) for search engine optimization point of view. Can anyone tell that does nested table structure of the page creates problem in SEO....
could anyone clear my this point...

No. I don't think so.
Search engines could care less about how you choose to design your page. They care about content and keywords.

That's pretty much what I understood. Tables shouldn't be a problem... not sure about how they'll prioritise keyword positions though.

If using tables is a necessity, then it shouldn't be a problem....But it CSS is a better solution to your problem, then I would suggest using CSS.

Erm actually yes tables do hinder SEO quite alot I have seen a few sites now been redone in CSS and have returned a huge increase in SERPS. Tables dont cuase the same sort of problem framed sites do but they do cause problems in a different way.

Here are a couple of sites which I am on about which benifited greatly from the change over to CSS

http://www.lease-hire.co.uk
http://www.bestcarlease.co.uk

Having your site designed in CSS means less of certian code being read by the search engines meaning the percentage of code verses real content is lower and it does make a huge difference to your site in terms of SEO. Also CSS designed sites load much quicker and have smaller files sizes, something else SE's like. Also haing your site in a situation wher it could pass validation is a good thing as the less errors on a page the better, also accessablity of a site helps out with SEO too. Many factors of just how well your site is designed has effect on you SEO results. Throwing together a site in frontpage/dreamweaver WYSIWYG editor using tables and no thought about accessability leads you in the wrong direction straight away.

Use tables for what they are ment for and CSS for what its ment for and not only will you have a much better coded site but also a more SEO optimized site.

i think it doesn't create problem when it comes to SEO but it would be better if you're going to use CSS for more clean website structure. To connect it with SEO, spiders typically crawl up a certain kilobyte of data, so the more data, or in this case table tags, potentially the less content a spider can crawl. So I suggest to use CSS to have better SEO effect.
