jar, I feel for ya. Took me 7 months to make my first $100 from it. But, now I'm learning new techniques that are getting me better rates. Now I just need traffic.

I just started my website and my only source of traffic is Adwords. That being said, I've spent about $100 on adwords and have brought in about $25 in adsense. I'm hoping to do the small things like forums, directory listings, link exchanges, seo to help build regular, consistent traffic and gradually ween myself off of adwords. I'm expecting a loss for the first 2 months and then am hoping things will turn around in a big way.

Does anybody have any experience of how long it takes to build consistent, unpaid traffic? My site is in the sig.

So far this thread mentions $300-$500 a month... that is my current goal with longer term pointing to the $15,000 someone else mentioned!

If there's website then it would be better to observe on how he can make such money.

I'm still new in adsense too. Not even 1 month.

Question for those of you making $xxx dollars a day (or week or month, it's still way better than I do). How much traffic do you get? And how much do you SPEND in advertising?

Then I sold off 2 major sites which dropped me down to around $15,000 per month. I am back up to around $25,000 per month.

But of course, I will not share my secrets or my sites for you to examine.

My site, annuity IQ, is unique, but I started from scratch with no visitors and now I get 180 people per day, give or take. I linked my site to plenty of directories, including my own, and get some traffic from them. I have to say the best source of traffic and links is using a press release, I use PRweb and they give you high PR, for whats that worth, links. It also generates a lot of one time and residual traffic. After that it is word of mouth and search engine referrals, but my site is a niche site and has a big market place. It has taken 3 months to build my traffic.

Adsense has added extra earnings to my sites and I have tried to keyword optimize my cointent to get more revenue out of less traffic.

I do not advertise my site, currently make $100 a week and it has taken a few months to get to that level. Traffic is key, but also keyword optimizing is just as important. Find the keywords that pay the most and lack of traffic can be offset with higher revenue from clicks. I am not an expert and am making far less than others on this board, but I do know that higher click through rates usually get you better ads, meaning higher paying ads. You can also add pictures above your adsense ads, that increases the click through rate. Change the colors of the ads to mach you hyperlinks, that has helped me. Maybe another guru can add more to this or correct me where I am wrong.
