This is an excellent point to keep in mind. And also another point i have seen happen is that many forums are completely open at the start. Then once they have gained a reasonable amount of links from other sites and also a decent amount of regular posting members they then change the settings so that the forum is only viewable by registered members and then all those posts and signature links are lost from the view of the search engines. | |

| Re: Proof that SEO works! Great stuff .... be sure to include an XML sitemap as well. Really a big disadvantage if you don't have one IMHO.

That's good advice - you can submit your site map using Google Webmaster Tools - it's very easy to do and GWT will validate it for you too.
