For getting backlink, try to look for a link exchange partners (related/non-related) but prioritize partners that is related to your site, the more the better..submit your site/blog to different Social Networks like Digg.com

Why would you be looking for PR?

Concentrate on SERPs... unless you want to sell links on your site or something...

PR will come with time.. You need quality backlinks and good on-page seo so you get good ranks on search engines.

You are right, page rank does not matter anymore. PR is just important if you want to be popular your site and want to have a link exchange partner. It is important that you rank well or your site is visible on the search engine.

Hello Dear

just do following steps for your Business website :-

1. first check your content and Title, Description and keywords , it must be quality content for your target in search engines.
2. Quality Free Directory submission
3. Classifieds Submissions
4. Article submission in Quality and high ranking sites
5. Social Bookmarking and Blog submission

You will get page rank Juice and also your Targeted Keywords in search engines.

i will fully agree with Importance is your website keywords in search engines and your traffic but Not page rank.

I checked my pagerank at http://www.urlpagerank.com and I had a 3, but I think I should be around a 4 on the next update. Does anyone know when the next PR update will be? Thanks

not that difficult..

following the few things will help you to boost your page rank;

your site contents should be unique and high quality and detailed.

the more the contents will be with correct grammar the more the chances for good PR.

the more the pages full of excellent contents you will, more changes..

seo freindly URLs can help you also.

post your site link on different free and paid directories.

answer or help people with their question on different forums.. in this way, your signature can help to have a good PR.

post blogs.

if possible, manage blogs and forums at your site.. will be great..
