![]() ![]() ![]() | Anybody use them? e.g. mug or coaster or mouse mat with your name and website on them. Are they worth the cost or just an ego trip?

| Member | I use branded mugs all the time, it is really the only thing I have found a success. I would also think about high quality plastic bags with your logo on. In the UK, people now seem to keep using their old bags. So, think about it, your logo could be walking around a supermarket or high street. I would go for Mugs and Bags, possibly pens, but I have had major successes with the Bags.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I have used these before, but not for my website. They are ok as a short term customer relation gesture, not sure on the long term benefits, though I suppose it depends what you are giving away. For instance Calanders can be good for long term. I would say you need to think about what items will be usefull to your customer base/user. |

I'm in a different position to many here, in that I sell real physical products online in my UK guitar store. I was thinking of promo items for 2 reasons... 1) short-term gesture such as bonus for buying more than £x worth or as an apology for mistake etc (very rare, of course) and 2) a long-term reminder - guitar strings are effectively a 'consumable' and I want customers to keep coming back for more... but how to make them come back to me instead of just Googling again? If they've got a Mars Guitars mug on their desk are they more likley to come straight back to me? Difficult to know, ![]()

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | How about a loyalty card with their own ID number! You send it out with the goods. When they next order they get say 10% off. Maybe the loyalty card could be in the form of a mouse mat....!!

![]() | Hi Mars Guitar- Promotional items are great not only to brand but they really can boost sales, do market research and so forth. We use a magnetized letter opener recently as a free gift with purchases of $50 at shows - quite effective since it cost us USD $ 0.65, average sale ticket was $112.00 and it gets our name out. We also generate sales from our customer based when we notify that via email about the free gift in response to a survey. You may consider getting custom picks since you are in the Guitar Business. Get something that your customers will use and appreciate - but something that can be easily shipped too...I'm not sure how mugs would fare via UPS or any courier service.
