How Useful Are Blogs On Directories

Recently I had the Authority Directory Blog added to my site (thanks mikey1090).

The reasons I added it were to allow for additional content, expand the possibility of site reviews and interaction with visitors to the site.

I see that blogs are pretty common additions to directories, though some are definitely used more than others. I see some directory blogs with only a couple posts that have been around for months or even years.

I thought I would get some ideas on additional uses for the blog and generating content from those of you that have blogs with your directory.

How do you use your directory blog?

How do you generate the content? Write it yourself, use a feed, hire writers or some other way.

I think directory blogging is a very handy tool. At the beginning of this year i selected a very narrow niche for my directory and since i reject a lot of submission the content can grow very slowly. Google adores the fresh URLs so i mostly use my blog to supply this demand, writing it with my hands.

Best way to generate contents for your blogs is to write it yourself, I personally have not had much success with hired article write, I have tried expensive one and cheap one, they produce rubbish most of the time.

temi - I have also tried hired article writers one time and the results were not so great. It was fairly easy to tell english was a second language to the writer.

They tend not to focus on your site in great details, which is the reason you paid for the service.

Generally blogs are having some limitations compare to regular websites and Directories, we just ready ourself and have plan to face and got solution for it........
