Default online business order issue

I have developed online store and have gifts products i.e home, office decoration gifts. wholesale gifts for family, gifts for her and gifts for him, christmas gifts, use computer and laptop etc. but still i am unable to collect any order online. My unique visitor is also too low. Any company would like to suggest me any method which improve my business or market my website. So, please contact with me on pm.
Thanks for your time, waiting for your reply

Hello, mali, the good news is you've come to the right place... the bad news is it takes a lot of hard work!

By taking advice from these forums and others, I have dramatically improved my guitar strings and accessories shop over the last few months. (btw, it's considered bad form to ask for advice by PM - these are open forums and what helpd you should also help others!)

My advise would be:
1) Specialise - don't try to be 'all things to all men'
2) Decide on some important keywords for your business
3) Check that your store includes your chosen keywords repeated many times, but in context - proper sentances
4) Check that your page titles and meta tags include your keywords
5) Submit your site to as many directories as possible, in the right category and including your keywords
6) Sign up to as may quality forums as possible; add signature links with your keywords as anchor text (very important!)
7) <<<< click the 'scales' icon on this post if you found this useful!

Hope this helps - keep plugging away, day after day, week after week, and I guarantee you will see results.

Paul

PS: read the FAQ on this forum to see why your links aren't live!

Mars Guitars,

I'm in a similar position to thebobbyshop with a new ecommerce site that I'm trying to get off the ground. I am just starting the work on posting to many forums (this one seemed like a great place to start!).

Just to know how big the task in front of me is, how many forums did you sign up to before you started to notice a difference in website footfall?

Many thanks,
Richard

Hi Richard,

First of all, congratulations on a great site - it looks very stylish and I'm sure will be a success. It's difficult to say how long it takes to build up business - obviously with Christmas coming demand is increasing anyway and I've also used other ways of promoting my site. Having said that, I have definitely made great improvements in amount of visitors (and conversions) over the last 3 months or so. One thing I would really stress is to make sure your link anchor text is targeted at keywords you expect people to search for - this has made a big difference to me (see my signature - it used to just say www.marsguitars.co.uk !). To give your site a kick-start in the pre-Christmas period I would recommend that you use Google ppc Adwords - you see an instant result with them, literally from the day you turn them on.

As for forums... the more the better. Ideally you should concentrate on 'relevant' forums (e.g. style/design/home for you - guitar forums for me), but I've found it easier to post often on forums like this as they're so active. The more links the better, so post daily. I haven't counted, but I probably belong to around 6 guitar forums, 4 web/seo forums and 4 or 5 mic other forums.

Use Google webmaster tools to keep an eye on how things are going.

Good luck with your new venture, and I look forward to hearing how it goes.

Cheers,

Paul

Paul,

I've been using Google Analytics for about a month (although the website has only been up properly for about 2 weeks). Really pleased with the information that it gives. Also, using AdWords and Webmaster tools has helped. We're still tuning the Adwords and trying to work out the best way to drive 'warm' visitors.

The main problem for Home Contrast is that is up against some big names (John Lewis, Debenhams, etc) who are paying over 50p per click for the kinds of keywords that relate to us. Our advertising budget is going to be blown pretty quick if we're not smart about it!

We've been signing up for quite a few home style type blogs/forums and that is generating some backlinks. I think we need to be patient!

Richard

P.S. How's the signature? :-)

Ouch!
Google "long tail marketing" and try some less obvious keywords for cheeper traffic

Yep, be patient and keep on plugging - you'll get there in the end

Yep, very good - you've got the right idea... but unfortunately you do need to look at the Signature rules for this forum! Look at FAQs - you'll need to slim down your sig for now, or you'll get modded... but keep thinking along those lines...
